Julian Newme is a multidisciplinary artist who works as a painter, digital artist, writer, and DJ. Passionate about modern and contemporary artistic and musical culture, his work is clearly influenced by the music scene of recent decades (pop, rock, electronic, and alternative), as well as "Postwar Abstract Painting" and contemporary art, especially pop art, muralism, and more recently, graffiti art, street art, and digital art. He is also interested in trends in film, design, architecture, and the staging of magazines and art publications, fashion, etc.
His work is a convergence of all these influences and is characterized by mixture, color, and texts. Whether in his physical pieces (wood, canvas, aluminum, and other mediums), his digital art portfolio, or his work in "fine art" prints, he predominantly uses the collage technique. This involves recycling posters and ads collected from city walls, as well as photographs from magazines, press, and his own. He reuses, paints, blends, digitizes, and works with acrylic, spray paint, digital tools, and various materials.
Many of his pieces on canvas, wood, or aluminum are also part of limited edition digital prints on "fine art" papers, numbered, signed, and with certificates of authenticity. He always collaborates with specialized contemporary art printing and framing teams, aiming to deliver highly crafted pieces that are well presented and perceived as finished artistic objects, valuable and worthy of acquisition.
